StorageScope is engineered as an offline-first storage analyzer. All scanning, directory calculation, duplicate finding, and cleanup operations take place strictly on your local device. StorageScope does NOT collect, upload, transmit, or share your files, photos, or personal data with any remote servers.

2. Core Functionality & Purpose of File Access

StorageScope is a dedicated disk management and storage analysis utility. Its core user-facing functionality allows Android device owners to:

  • Inspect internal storage distribution and visualize directory hierarchies as interactive storage maps.
  • Locate abnormally large files, forgotten downloads, and obsolete media consuming disk space.
  • Detect duplicate files and empty directories across accessible user storage.
  • Manually select and delete unwanted files upon explicit user review and confirmation.

3. High-Risk / Restricted Permissions Disclosure

To perform its core utility functions, StorageScope requests the following specific permissions:

1. All Files Access (android.permission.MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)

Declaration for Google Play Policy Compliance: Under Android 11+ (API 30+), StorageScope requires the All Files Access permission because calculating directory sizes across the entire filesystem, indexing large files, and detecting duplicate media cannot be accomplished using the limited Android Storage Access Framework (SAF) without causing severe performance degradation and incomplete audits.

Data Safety Guarantee: Merely scanning filesystem metadata (file names, sizes, directory paths, and timestamps) does NOT upload, read, or transmit personal file contents. Scanned metadata is processed exclusively in temporary device memory.

2. Usage Access (android.permission.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS)

Purpose: If optionally granted by the user, Android Usage Access allows StorageScope to retrieve application-level storage metrics (app size, cache size, and data size) provided by the operating system, helping users see which installed apps consume the most storage.

Optional: Usage Access is strictly optional. Core filesystem analysis and folder tree visual maps function completely without this permission.

4. What Data We Do NOT Collect

StorageScope does NOT collect, store, or transmit:

  • No personal identity information (name, email, phone number, device IMEI).
  • No file contents, documents, photos, audio, or video files.
  • No browsing history, search queries, or location data.
  • No keystrokes, passwords, or financial credentials.

5. In-App Purchases & Billing

StorageScope Pro features and one-time unlock purchases are processed strictly through the official Google Play Billing API. BuyWiseHub never receives, processes, or stores your credit card or payment information.

6. Third-Party Sharing & Trackers

StorageScope contains zero third-party advertising SDKs, zero data-broker trackers, and zero behavioral analytics. Your device storage metrics are never shared with advertisers or third parties.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Storage analysis results are stored only in local volatile application cache to facilitate fluid navigation. Users can instantly clear all cached scans via Settings > Apps > StorageScope > Clear Storage. Uninstalling the app permanently purges all associated local cache.

8. Security Standards

All local operations are protected by Android's built-in application sandbox. Because data is never sent outside your device, exposure to remote interception, breaches, or server leaks is eliminated.

9. Children's Privacy

StorageScope is a technical utility application that does not target children or collect any personal information from any user group.
